Bushra Khalfan
An Omani novelist and short-story writer whose work explores the social and historical textures of Omani life. Marked by formal restraint and psychological depth, her fiction attends closely to questions of land, labour, and belonging. Her novel Dilshad (2021) was shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2022 and won the Katara Novel Prize the same year. Her work occupies a central place in contemporary Omani literature, and she has served on the judging panels of major Omani and Arab literary awards.
