Fawwaz Haddad

Fawwaz Haddad is one of the most acclaimed Syrian writers, having published more than a dozen books, including Enemy Syrians (2014), God’s Soldiers (2011), Solo Piano Music (2009), and The Treasonous Translator (2008), all published by Riyad el-Rayyes (Beirut).

Solo Piano Music, which was published in Arabic in 2009, is a unique novel in its genre. It is Haddad’s first novel to appear in an English-language edition.

The Treasonous Translator (2008) was shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF, the “Arabic Booker”) and God’s Soldiers was long-listed for the IPAF.

God’s Soldiers (2011) was longlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (the “Arabic Booker”) and was published in German in 2013.
